Speaking as one of the green folk, I'd like to disagree.

Well that's hardly surprising, is it?

I think I chucked my leather on the floor against a wall, and sat on
that. Ate some grub, drank some pop. It was fine; after sitting on a
bike for umpteen hours, a change was as good as a rest.
Hmmm... I'm not that fussed with the scenery from the normal Channel ferry.
Yes, I can understand that point of view.
Oh, yes, easily 4 hours riding, plus stops. And that's taking the direct
route. I suppose if I lived closer to the Channel I wouldn't be so
bothered about how long it took to cross it.

  6. Why didn't you fix the other one while you were in there?

  8. [Tunnel V Ferry]
100% agreement, I've not use the tunnel for a bike but have for a
car[1]. IMLE by the time I'd got there waited for the train etc it was
only marginally quicker than the ferry. As you say on the ferry
    there's a chance to have a walk, food[2] & drink and just sprawl. I
try and fill up before getting on a ferry so on the other side it's a
tankful till the first stop is needed. I just know that if I used the
tunnel for a bike then almost the first thing I'd do in France would
be to stop for a break, negating any time advantage just gained.

[1] and eurostar too many times

I'm not entirely convinced that Ben is referring to the sea and other
ships when he refers to "scenery."

I thought of that, but the Channel ferries normally seem to be full of
annoying French schoolkids, so I didn't think he was referring to that.

    Ha. And further: ha.

If the ferries were full of them, I'm sure Eurotunnel would be in even
more trouble than it is already.

The ferry out to France on the last TOG trip was fairly well appointed
with eye candy. I've no idea as to the nationality of said eye candy.
