Are there any motorbike breakers that allow you to buy parts you remove
yourself from yards full of old bikes, in the same was as lots of car
breakers do: for example Bridges at Pease Pottage?

Or does the economics just not work the same way?

Depends what you are after though. Most 'wanted' bits are removed when the
bike comes in and get put on the shelf.

I wanted some really obscure bits for the Honda C90 so was allowed to
    wander.

They have a few bikes, I recently had to scour their yard for a Reg / Rec
for the TS50, came out with 2 of 'em for £4.00.

I think that the bike breakers in Telford let you have a rummage.
Their stock is all inside a big building. There's another place in
Shrewsbury with a similar set up, but last time I went there they
seemed more involved in selling overpriced old dogs with new MoTs.

    Hiya Telford people!

Where is the breakers in Telford? There used to be one in High St
Wellington, but no more I fear.

    Has it closed?

The one I'm thinking of was on the High St in Wellington, but on the
other side of the ring road to the town centre, down an alley. Not
been there for a year or so.

They used to have a complete but rough (and I mean *rough*) Honda CBX
1000 there, beyond all hope of salvation as far as I could tell. I
never asked them how much they were hoping to get for it, but I reckon
a fiver would have been too much.

Last time I was there they were trying very hard to flog me a Guzzi
V35 on Italian plates with no documentation and a 'warranted' 8K Km on
the clock for close on 800 quid. I made my excuses and left, as they
    say in the Sunday papers.

Moved out of the yard into the warehouse unit next door, I believe.
Same guy owns both buildings and the shop on the corner too.
