Now, the CBX has performed admirably these past two weeks, but
alternator rattle aside, the major problem I have found is the
    braking.

Now, a set of braided hoses will undoubtedly perform better than a set
of 28 year-old rubber hoses, but they'll still only be connecting a
shiteoldhonda master cylinder to a pair of single piston calipers.

Now, apparently the calipers off a CB900F are a "bolt-on" upgrade, but
does the FOAK have any suggestion about what to do at the handlebar
    end?

Mike probably won't have any suitable products, but he's very
knowledgable and can probably point you in the right direction.

Tassles and a lever, I suggest. Then go nuts and get a badger's tail at the
rear of the bike, on an antenna.

28-year-old hoses will probably bulge like Popeye's arms after a can of
    spinach.
I'd stick new hoses on first, and see what it's like.

If you go for the CB900F calipers, can't you just stick a CB900F master
cylinder and lever on t'other end?

    This isn't you then?

Despite the promising forum title, there doesn't seem to be much
    "upgrade" information.

Heh. It's simple when you put it like that, isn't it?

Of course, as soon as I do this, the stock forks will be shown up
    something rotten.

I thought I might be missing something obvious, actually. Are the bar
    diameters the same?
I've got set of GSX600F forks, if they're any good. Special ukrm discount!

Sounds like "The Bed" by Lou Reed from "Berlin".
The wrist-cutting references could apply to Whinehouse though.
