It's the mountain bike not the GSXR I've been doing the brakes on.
The paintwork is already battle-scarred so I'm not really worried
about it. Plus it'll be getting re-sprayed[1] during the winter.

[1] Matt black in a change from the bling metallic red it is
currently. It'll be a better match for the carbon forks then.

I discovered tonight that brake fluid is not particularly good for
    starting BBQs

Hmm, interesting. Didn't get any on the bike anyway, only my hands.
Urgh no. Naked carbon fibre looks lovely.

  6. Interesting. The tech at work was telling me recently that there
had been a flap in the UK a while ago about cars catching fire in accidents
when the brake/clutch fluid reservoirs came off the bulkhead and spilled
fluid on the hot engine. Colour me skeptical.

Not much more to give - it just gave off a lot of white smoke and almost
    put the proto bbq out

    as wizard will testify to

  10. I was going to, but I left the jar of old fluid standing outside
the garden shed and guess what? It actually _rained_ and the jar got filled
    with water! In London!

  11. Which is why methanol was banned as an F1 fuel. There was at
least one driver fatally burned in an incident but the marshals didn't
even see he was on fire. On the other hand, Indycars use methanol because
two drivers were killed in a "petrol-fuelled fireball" at the 1964 Indy 500.

Pace don't do USD forks. If you want USD's then these are the puppies
    to have:

Personally, I preferred to buy British and went with the Pace's (I'd
also have their previous model and they lasted 10 years), but the
    Mavericks have fantastic reviews.

Bit of old newspaper and a few sticks is you need. Chemical assistance
is for wusses who can't light a real fire.
