are there actually any racers lurking in this group.. or is it just a bunch
    of opinionated couch potatoes...

I have a pile of brake discs off my gsxr1000 superbike that are pretty
blued.. i just ordered a set off a street bike on ebay, and they look brand
new and silvery compared to my burnt and blue race discs..

is there any way to revive these discs.. i know they are stock and
stainless, but where the disc meets the carrier i can see that the metal has
turned brown a little from heat.. is this just a case of sand blasting or
media blasting the surface, or is there a hone i can use to clean them up
    myself...

i know the metal is very hard because we tried to turn down a set of rear
discs on a lathe and it was too hard for the cutting bits..!!

at the track i use sandpaper to clean them up but after a few races they are
    just the same as before..

BTW im using DP brake pads HH sintered racing compound...

    any ideas??

Sorry homeys.. im a couch potatoe too but sometimes i like to talk shop...

Really well, i never thought of grease flying past my bearing seals..
although it does make sense i know my seals are in average condition and the
bearings in there are sealed too...

that explains the blu on the outside of the rotor but what about the blu on
the inside of the rotor, its not on the same plane as those seals!!
