    Second hand to "Elsie"

Counting not one of your strong points either?

Anyway I'm sure people will make up their own minds about your
"expertise" in matters mechanical so there doesn't seem much point in
continuing this discussion. Feel free to keep harping on if it makes
    you happy though.

Possibly you get it as an accessory to the "life" thing?

I don't think it's available to people who combine parenthood and

  4. Brings to mind that scene from the Simpsons:

Apu (ejecting Homer from the Kwikimart for reading the magazines):
"This is not a public library!"
Librarian (ejecting Homer from the library, with Homer holding a
squishie and a burrito) "This is not a Kwikimart!"

Don't know where you get the time and energy from to watch the Simpsons
Then again, you do live in Canberra where the livin is easy
    not much to do
    nothing opened after 10 pm
    No clubs
    No pubs late closing
I guess there is nothing better to do than watch the Simpsons.
You could always set the video recorder to tape The Biggest Loser

    I'm posting this from http://fat.ly/7npw9

It's web-based, has a satisfactory user interface, allows text searching
and marking of read/unread messages, and signup (for posting purposes) is
    free.

And the best news is that it only hosts the aus.* hierachy. :)

Oooh, yes please. I've already partially disassembled the calliper and it
looks straight forward enough. I have the seals(1) on order and am
ordering new pistons for good measure, as there is a level of corrosion
    on the outer edge.

    The email address works.

    thanks, Bill

    (1) It really *was* ice-cream, honest...

Is there something you're not telling us Zebee? Parenthood?

I retired nine months ago. I started with about 60 hours of spare
time. I'm fighting for the last ten now.

    Good one Centurion.
I always reckon the name of that show perfectly describes the audience
    for that show.

And of course those people would be mad sacrifice any of that to do
their own mechanical work (assuming there was a convenient and
    trustworthy shop available).
I'm not recommending doing your own work (apart from simple
brake-calliper servicing); I'm just pointing out that even major
stuffups aren't generally that catastrophic cost-wise when compared to
    bike-shop service-costs.

Oh I don't know, I find that her posturing engenders pity rather than
condemnation. Also, the fact that he chooses to stalk some nondescript
character in usenet (me) seems to indicate an interesting mental
condition - made more so by the way she keeps coming back for more
after being clipped sharply over the ear. He is annoying but I think
you ought to consider her condition. That would be charitable of you,
and you would get your reward sometime after you started pushing up
    daisies
There endeth the first lesson :)

You're aiming to high, Zebee. I still haven't got Northern Ireland
    completed to my satisfaction yet.
