OK, I won't prolong this stupidity any more.
You are quite correct and I ought to be severely chastised for not
    thinking for myself.
Make that another win for Nev. Yay for Nev :)

  4. Make sure you have permission from the publisher first to avoid
    breaching copyright!!

You should advise them only that the article exists, leaving the obvious
conclusion 'Oh, I'll go to the store and get a copy, thanks for telling
me about it' to the reader.

Otherwise you have offered to commit an offence for no personal
gain...where is the logik in this?

There is heaps of stuff on YouTube that may be used as a reference - but
no doubt the OP has gone there already due to the dearth of practical
    information contained in this discussion.

(Disclaimer: I am not making any recommendations as to the validity of
information contained therin cos I haven't bothered to look at it - it's
    just there)

    I would.

    Or the library.

Thank you for pointing that out Fulliautomatix, and stopping me from
    accidentally breaking the law.

It's mainly pictures so I can't post it here but I'll see if I can
figure out how to put it on yahoo or somewhere.

Oops; I just had another look and it's not about brake-calliper
servicing at all. It's only about brake-pads and calliper cleaning so I
apologise for misleading anyone (and I especially apologise if anyone
shelled out $7.50 just for the article. Mind you; the Fred Gassit was a
ripper and well worth the money anyway!)

That was me and it happened around 1975, the only occurrence I've
    known.
    It's a red herring.

Sorry for bignoting myself here, but if anyone is miffed at me for not
replying to their posts it's probably because a lot of posts are
getting dropped by Google Groups. (I only just discovered this a few
    minutes ago).

Apart from that I've been quite satisfied with Google, but I may have
to look into usenet news feeds again now though.

Yep, happened to me too. The selling dealer was the same as the servicing
dealer, but it had only been serviced once (Minx hasn't been riding much
the past few years). Since it was still under warranty I'd vowed not to
lay a spanner on it, but obviously I gave it a good check over later that
    day.

  18. Hopefully they would have read it in the store first!

    I would.

Whether or not it contravenes some regulation.

Brings to mind that scene from the Simpsons:

Apu (ejecting Homer from the Kwikimart for reading the magazines):
"This is not a public library!"
Librarian (ejecting Homer from the library, with Homer holding a
squishie and a burrito) "This is not a Kwikimart!"
