Brake Caliper

Seeing as the easy out snapped trying to get the caliper bolt out. It has
now left a high tensile steel piece in the bolt that can't be drilled out!!

Where can I get a cheap new caliper from? Quickly as I want to do the closed
to club on the weekend.

 

They all do that

And this is always the result. Never use them.

Tried Ebay for a replacement?

 

Try taking it to a toolmakers or quality engineering firm. It will need
spark-eroding out. Not costly or time consuming.

Out of interest, how much do you reckon a job like that would cost?

 

£10-£15 is what I normally pay for a fairly accessible thread in a smaller
casting. A little more for multi-cylinder head exhaust port studs.

lol...as per other posts...they do that

a better bet is to drill the bolt out as close as you dare to the
threads and pick the remaining bits out with a sharp bent hard thing

a bit of high tensile wire or such

and remember...rubbin's racin ;-)
