Are you sure that's not just his default stance on folks he's
never met? No principles until proven otherwise?

GB, the principal is your pal.

If this was the case then no-one would ever get convicted of trafficking
    again.
Just fill you suitcases with cocaine and if you get caught blame the bag
    handlers.
You being a cop, I would expect you've seen some really dumb people do lots
    of stupid shit.

Well yes, but if that 'political' causes the court not to be 'running
very well' then people are justified in complaining about that. [1]

As the Indonesian judges pointed out, his claims weren't evidence, they were
hearsay. The Victorian prisoner John Ford was the only person who claimed
that the baggage handlers had put the drugs in the bags, and he alleged he had
the names of those people who were responsible, or at least those who knew who
    was responsible.
Had he provided names from which further investigations could be pursued they
may have uncovered enough evidence to provide reasonable doubt to the court,
but as it stands he only outlined what was an unsubstantiated story.

He was the sole source of the evidence which formed the basis of her defence
and he claimed to know more details but refused to give those details to the
court. In any country it would be difficult for a judge or jury to give his
story much more weight than the indonesians gave it.
