I see no reason to punish the Indonesian people for what is
effectively a failure of 'the system', so I'm not gonna stop
    rooting her.

We certainly have quite a few of their fishermen stuck on boats.

yeah if i put that evidence before a court here it be chucked out.. but its
not my place to say if shes guilty or not, i just thing the court wasnt run
    very well

then again when people do something legal in their country thats illegal
here, i lock them up, like beating their wives..

The locals at Bali don't get much of the tourist dollar.

That ends up in the Government coffers, and rich Indonesian's pockets.

A boycott will hit the Indonesian Government where it hurts.

Take the missus to somewhere like Dubbo instead, and she mightn't hit you
    where it hurts !

if giving one of our citizens an unfair trial and locking them up and threatening the death penalty isn't enough to hurt relations.

I cant wait till she finally admits they were her drugs...

    How do you figure that?

    OK I'll bite, how ?

I can't see how it makes the slightest bit of difference, the
Indonesians aren't even going to notice the .005% change in sales from
the "boycott", particularly given it's going to last for about the
attention span of the average aussie (which seems to be about 2 weeks
afaict). Given the outcome of the last election, the average aussie
isn't going to go against their hip pocket nerve in the pursuit of
principal anyway, so I'd suggest it's more likely to be a 0% change.

This also assumes that the Indonesian judicial system IS affected by non
legal actions, an assumption that may be well founded but probably
proves the reason why we should be boycotting this particularly corrupt
    nation.

Lastly, there's not a thing in hell that's going to save her, I've said
it since the day she was arrested, Indonesians (or more accurately
Javanese) love a chance to **** over Aussies, they can't stand us.
Wouldn't have mattered what the evidence was,or whether she was or
wasn't guilty, she was going to gaol for a long time.

ROTFLMAO !!! I guess you've never heard of Guantanamo Bay then ? Bush
hasn't stopped his carnal relations with our PM let alone Australia
    stopping diplomatic relationships
Ahh now we have a useful comment, indeed, they are bitter over Timor
(and a lot of other stuff), the odds of any Aussie getting a fair trial
in Indonesia are zero, not going there is a very good move, not because
it'll make any difference to Corby, but because the odds of your own
arse ending up in front of a firing squad are far too high for my liking.

    JL
(And it's quite unfortunate that our govt. chooses to support legally
dodgy invasion of other countries, thus increasing the number of
countries who hate Aussies from about 2 to at least 10 or 15 :-(
