spida emerged from their own little world to say
    this place: http://home.btconnect.com/wessons/cafe.htm
was recommended in another thread. Not Brighton but in the general
    direction.

Just a quick wonder whether anyone can offer suggestions for good
coffee/bacon in Brighton. It seems we may be venturing eastwards for a
    change.

Thanks, might be worth a try, anything worth visiting on the sea
    front?

  4. Madeira Snack bar used to be the place - 20 odd years ago. Did a
cracking lorry driver's brekkfast (ermmmm... Yum yum) all day for not
much cash - free for me cos my mate worked there...

  5. That's where the snack bar is - as used by the cast and extras of
    Quadraphenia.

I'm warming to that; a truck stop would be favourite cos that's
generally the best value for money. I seem to remember that Madeira
Drive is the place to go.

Never nod to a scoot, unless it's an R6 - although, there isn't a Who
track I wouldn't listen to at least once again.

  9. The Market Café, just North of the Brighton Pier by the fruit and Veg
market. Their "gut buster" is a thing of wonder.

It used to be run by a couple of woofters and we had many breakfasts in
there early (3am or 4am) on a Saturday morning.

That's the one upstairs, above the undercover market on the A23 out of
town isn't it? I've had breakfast there many times back in the early-mid
80s, when we used to have regular weekend runs down to Brighton.

Cheers mate, I don't have a problem with woofters serving bacon,
although I might pass on the sausage[1].

I have a route containing the A272 marked out.

[1] Ignore it, I've had the outlaws in.

  12. It was the venue of choice for the discerning clubber. We used to be
very well fed in there and the service was top notch.

    Here'ya: http://www.itchybrighton.co.uk/venues/540.html

If you fancy a ride down there give us a holler, I've not been there for
years and it's well worth it.

  13. I used to live on that road in Haywards Heath.

When are you going to be doing that road? You see, I'm going down to
Billingshurst for the week as of tomorrow, which is also on the A272.

I was going to take the car but if you're going to be about and fancy a
hoon, I'll take the bike instead.

Drop us an email with yer mobbly number and we can sort something out.
I know what you mean. I've just watched Dr.Who and I'm having to stop
    myself being all polite.

They nearly threw my mate out of there because they thought he was
jacking up. He was in fact giving himself a much needed insulin
    injection before he collapsed.

  15. That's not a bad thing, them wanting to throw him out I mean. Insulin's
ok and you can appreciate how they might jump to conclusions.

I've got my lorry test in just over a week so will be in Sussex for a
few days if you fancy coming down next weekend.

This smacks of planning, which means it's going to turn to rat shit.

    email is a p f at d s l dot p i p e x dot c o m.

We'll probably leave Bournemouth about 9:30 ish head towards
Petersfield, maybe via Salisbury, and take the 272 from there.

  18. No planning involved really mate. I'm going to be down on 29/30/31
March, 1st April for deffo, then depending on what the weekend throws up
I may stay down or go back to Londinium, then I'm back on 4th and 5th of
    April.
    Taken to email.

I'd've shouted earlier, but I don't do planning. Top day out, although
Brighton seems to be a lovely place to come from.
