Everything is packed and I am just waiting for the others to turn up.
The Steam Racket changed our sailing times only last week, so now we
don't get in to Douglas until after midnight, so no chance of watching
while Champ hopefully improves his practice times in the last session.

Wondering what my mate Robin will actually turn up on. His faithful old
Nordwest has finally been pensioned off and he was threatening to
replace it with a KTM 950SM. As he had to do a three month assignment
working in Sweden there hasn't been time so he says he has been lent a
bike but won't reveal what it is until he turns up at my place.

The Dart rider of last year has acquired a Morini Corsaro 1200 so the
'Tart' will have to keep the 72 degree v-twin flag flying rather than
the Morini which I used last year.

Looks like we could find ourselves in the occasional sudden heavy
downpour on the way so full Gortex precautions from the start I suspect.

Too damp to improve, but it's the same for everyone, so I think I'll be
in the same sort of position.

My girlfriend's on the same boat, so I might see you as you roll off.

Heh. I had to check if you'd post-edited, it seems you didn't.

Of course, the aging lothario will claim it was intentional.

    hi there :)
life is mostly ok, but sadly devoid of bikes. i tore a ligament and
can't bend my knee much, so no pillioning.

If you didn't see us you should have at least heard the Corsaro. Coming
off the super seacat two up with a heavy pillion it grounded on the ramp
and pulled the front pipe loose from the rest of the system. A breakdown
call fortunately soon had it back together well enough to continue on to
    our digs.

The Morini then decided to sulk and would not even operate the starter
after stalling the next morning. After nearly calling for a recovery
back to the mainland we tried putting it in gear and rocking it. It then
started and did so for the rest of the week. Oddly when he switched it
on the tacho had been showing a steady 1500 rpm (and an engine
    management fault).

Apparently it is due a 'CPU upgrade' when he gets back anyway. We reckon
perhaps a software glitch or a fooled crankshaft sensor persuading the
weird 'ferrari type' starter system that the engine was already running
and so the starter should not operate.

A very enjoyable week - see 'Well done Champ thread' for congrats.

Voxan going v. well but gave me a bit of a moment when the front end
went light and a bit flappy coming out of the 'dip' between Kate's and
the Creg (it was fairly well wound up at the time).
