In the middle of nowhere, on a Wednesday night?

Going into a right-hand bend on my way to a rally meeting I changed
down but only found a false neutral.
Decided to coast through the off-camber corner but the gearbox had
other ideas and found the next gear down - the back end locked up and
    down I went.
Damage to bike: Number four spark plug cap & spark plug broken, RH
front indicator, rh mirror, handle-bars not straight (I'll have
another look in the morning - in the daylight) but the forks seem
okay, and the cover for the ignition coil/advance thing on the RH side
    mashed.

Damage to me: Little hole in left shin, hole where I bit my lip.

Not too bad considering I went into the bend (B526 between Horton &
Stoke Goldington) at around 60-ish mph.

    No witnesses.

    <snippage>

    You soft old sod.

Commiserations, mate - on the bike and personal damage.
    I'd call that a result.

I guess you rode it home anyway?

    Yep. They'd just be upset.
Yes, I rode it home after the meeting.

Haven't told herself yet. She's still in bed.

You prat! I've never heard of this particular method of binning it. Keep
that wound nice and clean, we don't want another Bear type pus factory.

Cheers on both counts; however they're original 4-part GPz bars and
    they look ok.

When I get the time I'm going to loosen everything off (from the wheel
axle up) and retighten to see if that helps.
