Glass is near dead in pubs and will be shortly under the new booze act ,
think washable plastic is ok though

  2. I can deal with that thick plastic I suppose. But the thin flimsy ones
    can **** right off.

You can throw them away when you've finished with them.

Last Friday, when the neighbour came over for a beer, I got out my Bohemia
Crystal Beer Mug. I'd never actually used it before, despite having it for
four years. And yes, the beer was much nicer.

    That mug was free.

OK, it cost me 350 pints of blood products but no cash, and has the
    engraving to mark the occasion.

  5. Yep - I am very good at training pubs. Everyone else has to drink out
of plastic, but they give me glass when I ask for it. Even on a
Saturday night. Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart. I must smile nicely :)

I'd be interested to see that claim proven in any number of pubs up here....
No glass alowed in many now due to restrictions although they do have
    heavy plastic

  7. You've pretty much gotta be a local before they know aren't the type
to smash a glass and cut someone. And yeah, got Sydney pubs to see my
way. If you just walk in off the street into an unknown pub you have
    no chance.
