BOSM - tents and bikes

A couple of BOSM matters for those who may be interested:

    1. ASDA are, once again, selling their 'disposable' tents. Like wot I had
atBOSM and EOSM last year - £9.97. I've bought another one, if anyone wants
me to get them one and transport to the Black Horse rather than having to
carry their decent one(s) there then let me know here or on
and I'll get some more in the week...

    2. The NS is still not fucking ready due to yet more problems sourcing the
simplest bits like exhaust gaskets etc (not helped by the TS jit and Jolly
Moto pipes ditching the ATC valves therefore needing slightly thicker
    gaskets on cylinders 1 & 3).

And the Daytona's clutch is on the way out (snap the throttle open at over
120-odd and the revs rise but the speed stays constant/wont go above 150 no
matter how high the revs climb and how gently you accellerate to get there)
and I had arranged to drop that off for the new plates when I pick the NS
    up... Bugger.

Luckily the Alfa *is* still running even after a week off the road whilst I
went to check on French house progress[1]

So I may be in the car.... Which will be useful if I do have to bring a
    load of extra disposa-tents....

Or I may be on the NS, but it may not be run in......

    Dave

[1] Progressing quite well, considering... The WavyDavy Lot River Valley
Bike Excursion and Cahors AOC Wine-Tasting Club will be operating from July
    onwards.....

    Double Doh.
Excellent. My land lord has had an Alfa for a number of years.. that
keeps running too, so they can't be all that bad. He's not the most
    mechanically sympathetic owner either.
I thought that 2 strokes only wore out. ;)

'Run in' and 'worn out' are two phrases which are very closely linked in
terms of mileage with the NS.... :)

Hmm, ta, I might pop into Asda tomorrow and have a peek, gotta be
better than getting the old tent out that I *still* haven't got around
to replacing with a quick-erect jobbie.

Ah yes. The Fokker Speteor. An early Dutch jet fighter. Development was
abandoned after a high crash rate, disappointing top speed and a
tendency to get shot down a lot on account of them all being painted
    yellow.

Someone needs to get Trading Standards on to the tent manufacturers. I
kipped in a "two-man" tent last night (on my own). I got into my
sleeping bag liner, but abandoned attempts to get into the sleeping bag
after the chest pains became too bad, and I heard a Polish-accented
voice saying "walk into the light".

Fucking cramped, it was. And cold.
