I always seem to develop a transient ignition problem when passing
revenue vans. Somehow, my ignition cuts, then comes back in *just* as I
    pass the van.

    It's all very odd.

Hmm. I think I'd have removed the number plate and then done a U
    turn.

I used to use a much better scheme. May resurrect it this summer.

  5. I've never known anyone push their bike backwards away but a mate
pulled up, tied the bin liner his sleeping bag was in over the plate
and f**ked off. It's not beyond the wit of man...
I'm assuming Plod hire civvies to run their scamera schemes. If it's a
real plod biker they can just use their radar gun as normal... ...and
if it's a real plod biker there even a chance they will probably be
fairish in their reaction to a bike at 60.000001mph.

What you want to do it cut your bike off right about --->Here<--- so you
can cover your plate with your hand as you go past :)

I got a letter saying the summons was being withdrawn.

Trust me, it's worth arguing the toss when they are talking about noting the
plate of a vehicle speeding away at "x"[1] mph...

Yep, you bet it is... and when it doesn't work for stopping people
falling off bikes, other so called safety things will come along.
