Like you I didn't google so didn't know.

If I did know I might have made plans, but as it's Prescott on Sunday,
father's planning to hospitalise himself again this evening and the
Tig's not fixed, I won't be going unfortunately.

You've not Sussed out how to negotiate have you? Try the "I've booked
us a weekend in..." approach next time. I always tell Adie she's
invited but she doesn't trust me when bikes and winter are involved.

 

I prefer "I'm going to be in <place> <when>". <when> is usually
something like "tomorrow", too.
