Once upon a time if I went anywhere, it was by bike, in any weather.
That was before I had a car licence. Now I ride for the enjoyment of
it, and I don't enjoy 400 mile round trips in shitty weather. Car it
    is.

  4. Good golly. I remember the old days of the first (Eddie arranged) EOSMs.
The only one to turn up in a car would be Bear (bad back, fear of red
    mist etc).

    How things change.

S'cuse me, but I've turned up for several *OSMs by bike.

I think I've taken the car a couple of times too, mind.[/QUOTE]

This will be the first of all those I've attended that I'll have turned
up at in a car and that's because my companion doesn't do pillions. She
prefers to ride up front but doesn't have a bike at the moment.

    No problem.

Especially if it means that we've got to do 30 miles back to her folks
on Saturday night with them on her lap... All of a sudden the Merc
    appeals :)

I went to bed normal time last night and then slept through until 2pm
this afternoon. I'm feeling snoozy now but I'm going to hold out
until midnightish and then hit the sack.

I feel like Thursday didn't actually happen, as we left LA in darkness
on Wednesday night (after 4 and a half hours sitting on the plane
whilst an air leak in one of the engines was fixed) and landed at
Heathrow just as the sun set yesterday (after circling for a slot for
some time and then having to sit on the plane for 30 minutes on the
tarmac waiting for a stand to become free) ... leaving Las Vegas seems
like a lifetime away (thank God) :)
