If you are nesh like me and have not managed to find a B&B near Hulland
Ward then this hotel has what seems like a decent rate for the weekend in
    question.

    http://www.avaweb.co.uk/abc/internationalhotelderby.html?source=abc

£35 per night for a double room inc. breakfast.

    International Hotel (claims ***AA)
    288 Burton Rd, Derby, Derbyshire, DE23 6AD

About 12 miles from Hulland Ward.

I have reserved a room but have the option to cancel if anyone thinks my
health is at risk by staying there.

That seems a fair deal. I may well stay there as well.

No idea about the place, other than it's out of town on a road with
several B&B's on it. Whilst it's not all that far it's still a cross-
country trek back there so at a guess I'd put aside £20'ish for the
taxi, and make sure you book it early doors.

One of the barmaids might be able to recommend a local (Ashbourne) taxi
firm that are more competitive, otherwise I can give you a number for a
couple of the Derby (Proper taxi, not minicab.. so they actually show
    up) ones on the night.

Not stoping in a tent is so gay, you know.

  18. You could always charter a special journey on the 109 bus from TM
Travel. The 109 runs from Derby to Ashbourne and stops by the Black
    Horse.
