    Brilliant.
At least it's got that **** Livingston out.

Met Boris a couple of years back, at the NSPCC parliamentary ride, had tea
with him and Ladyman. Both very keen bikers, and very nice guys.

Hopefully it'll all work out well. At least Boris appears to be honest
and genuine - two things Ken has never appeared to be.

And maybe the truth about the "dangers" of bikes using bus lanes will now be
heard. Not that I gaf about bikes in bus lanes anyway.

In this neck of the woods bikes get to use both bus lanes and car share lanes.
The only problem is that most of said lanes are in or around Bristol which
has the worst traffic problems in the UK so the benefits are doubtful.
I do not understand the "dangers", anything that stops bikes having to
wriggle through traffic is going to be safer.

Oh, I dunno. Suddenly the whole boring Olympics thing is starting to
look a lot brighter. I can't wait for him to take the handover in
    China.

The BBC have just described him as the "most powerful Tory in Britain"
which was a bit of a mindblower.

  9. I quite like him (and so do the majority of voting Londoners it seems).
And while I wouldn't describe him as any more "honest and genuine" than
your average politician, he's such a buffoon that when he lies or
screws up he's completely incapable of hiding it. That level of
transparency will make a nice change from that sneaky weasly-faced git
    Livingston.
He might be good for a laugh though, which is good enough for me.

  11. I don't know that they're the *only* competencies, but they certainly
play a big part. I wouldn't worry about it. It's not really very
    important.
Heh. That's an impressive turnaround time if it has anything to do with
him. Boris Johnson - a force for change in London.

  13. Wouldn't it be a hoot if Boris and/or Ladyman are lurkers or
    nom-de-plume contributors to ukrm?

I reckon that Charlie bloke is a bit fishy...

With Sir Bony's reputation for all things sick and perverted, he could
well be a Tory MP as well.

Well, it's done now. All you can do is hope that he gets some very
    good advisors installed.

Mmm. Right. Well, I'm not sure I agree with any of that. All the
parties seem pretty much the same to me and you could as well have
been saying this about the Tories however long ago.

All I think is that Boris will at least give me a laugh and if he
brings everything crashing round his head, well I couldn't give a ****
if we were all nuked to oblivion tomorrow anyway.

I've never quite understood where he cocked up so badly. If I remember
rightly he had the likes of Cameron miles behind as a "young Tory",
and I always thought he was massively ambitious, so I can't really
understand why he just seemed to divebomb off the political wagon like
    he did. He appears to be very charismatic and funny as well as smart;
you'd have thought if he played the game he'd have achieved whatever
    he wanted in the party.

(not that I was paying a huge amount of attention)

I'm a Scouser and I like Boris. I also suspect he was pretty much spot
on with what he said about Scousers and I hope he considers to say what
    he thinks.
