Booze?

Having just lugged several armfuls of booze back from Spain (saving an
absolute bloody fortune in the process) I've been looking around for
somewhere to top up supplies without the "hassle" of spending some time
in the sun as part of the round trip.

I've stumbled across http://www.liquors.me.uk/index.html who seem to
do pretty much everything at el-cheapo continental prices and have
    dirt cheap delivery.

Anyone used them? Know if they're dodgy, or how badly customs will
react? Their T&Cs suggest that if a shipment's stopped, they'll
send a replacement. All good so far.

    fx: Applause.

Drunk by pseudy-beardy-fuckers that go on about peat and needing sping
water from an appropriate source... and how they can taste the
difference... as they take another draw on their cigarette/cigar/pipe.

They surely are. France is far from the cheapest (c/w/ Spain, Greece
et al.) EC country, booze-wise, but to charge £16.72 for a .7L bottle
of Bombay Sapphire is fucking extortionate. I can buy it in any
supermarket for around 11 Euros - say £7.50 a bottle. Everything else
who's prices I can remember are similarly inflated.

    Fucking rip-off, so it is.

Think you've got your currencies mixed up. Bombay Sapphire is £11.72 or
EUR 16,50. Point being it's still cheaper than £14 a bottle over here.

Whatever. It's a 50% markup on French prices, was my point, and
probably about 100% on Spanish ones.
Point being that it's a rip-off site exploiting a Gullible UK market
and making far too much profit on the deal. Plus I'm _really_ dubious
about the legality of such a scheme. HM C&E would, I feel, have
    something to say about it.

Not quite that bad. About 50% on the Catalan prices I got last week
(oddly, the supermarket on-site was cheaper than the Champion ten
    minutes walk up the road)
Well, quite, hence my original post above.

Mmmm I've only seen the 37% on the shelves
in the UK and abroad for about three years now.

I've got some 55% Dillion for mixing and 'Fire Tongue Bowls'.

I read in the papers on the Internet ( I can't remember where) that the
C&E were being challenged in the courts over their illegal seizure of
booze and fags for personal consumption, ordered from abroad for
delivery to England by post or carrier. According to the rules we all
have to abide by, that's no different to buying it and bringing it back
    yourself.

I'm armed to the gills with Frangelico; Baileys; Triple sec; blue
curacao; cremes de cacao, cassis, banane, menthe and cafe; Cointreau,
framboise, peppermint and peach schnapps; Mintu; Kahlua and pretty much
anything else I could find, as well as the usual spirits.

    Alcoholic armageddon, here I come...

Pah. Call that a cocktail cabinet? You're missing, at a first glance,
whisky/ey, bourbon, brandy, calvados, cherry brandy, gin, vodka, rum
(dark, golden/light and white), ameretto, vermouth (bianco & rosso),
pastis/anise, drambuie, and quite a few others I'd have to rummage
    around to remember.

Oh, and Cointreau _is_ triple sec, you numpty, as is Kahlua creme de
    cafe.

    Kids these days eh?

"as well as the usual spirits"
Got vermouth, dislike amaretto, banned myself from drinking Drambuie,
forgot to include the Benedictine, Creme de Catalan, honey rum and
christ knows what else I've got sitting on the shelf. There be Dragyns
    near the back.
Yes, but there's "the good stuff" and "the stuff in half litre bottles
that cost me about 3 euros each".
    Pah. Call that a put-down? :p
