    Yes mother; BMWs do explode!
I was chatting with a mate at work and he was showing be the scars of the
burns on his arms from his K100RT (I think) which did a Colin Edwards on his
way to work a few weeks back.
He thinks the low-pressure fuel-return line kinked and leaked and the petrol
welled up on the engine somewhere before igniting.
He was in heavy traffic and moving fairly slowly and was able to wobble to
the gutter and he and his wife jumped off as the bike fell over.
He said he was totally blinded by the flames and had it happened at a higher
speed he would've been ratchet. (I think that's what he said).
Frightening! (...even for those annoying unflappable BeeEm types!)

Hang on, I've heard this story before, on the OAR group. Geez what's the
coincidence, a story turning up twice on the internet featuring the same
person, same bike in the same town.

What's the net coming to when stories are being sent on containing facts!

Sorry Stuart, I should've embellished with some made-up detail, conspiracy

If he had an R1 he'd have been able to accelerate through the flames.

Direct result of Gosford Council laying coarse gravel
over sprayed bitumen on the Old Pacific Highway I
    reckon. Bastards! It's a conspiracy!
