I'm looking for a book on maintenance, repair and restoration of
motorcycles. If you take a Haynes manual or a factory specific Honda
Owners/Service manual (if you have a Honda) and want to find solutions
for straightening bent cooling fins, remove rust from the tank, remove
tar on the fairing or how to bring a dead battery to life a again, you
will most likely search without any luck (so far I didn't have any
luck). I'm rather looking for a do-it-yourself book explaining smart
and intelligent solutions using a cotton string, 2 clothing clamps, 1
empty cola can/bin, a pile of gravel and a piece of duct tape. Has
anyone of you seen such a book? Do you think I will be more lucky
looking for books on restoring old vintage cars?

    Regards, Lucas Jensen

That's quite a cross post you've got there, young man. Only an
American would be so shit. Are you from north America, dear boy?

You need to look at the various rat bike groups. Repair anything with a
yard of gaffer tape and a bent coathanger them guys.

Talking of McGuyver, wouldn't he be able to weld using those with a 24V
    truck battery ?

.... Like the Haynes Motorcycle Basics Techbook, for example?
This sort of thing cannot be written down, it can only be performed,
generally in the pissing rain while all your so-called mates are already
in the pub wondering where you are because it's almost your shout.
