Oh dear, did no one tell you to use a cobalt drill bit, they have to
be handled with care because they can chip or shear easily but they
    EAT hardened steel.

Yeah, I know that but WTF uses fucking hardened bolts on handlebar
    brackets?

    Oh yeah!...Suzuki DUH!

<fx: sulks off to find online suppliers of PROPER drill bits>

    Cheers!

I know it sounds stupid, but can you move whatever is secured by that bolt
around at all if you take the other bolts out? Sometimes if you can get
whatever is bolted down to wiggle a bit, it can unstick the stuck bolt.

It'll make its appearance sooner or later.... I'm still struggling with
an awkward little crosshead screw holding one of the rear fairing bits
to the frame. This one too is completely munged (probably by the same
arse that knackered the handlebar allen cap!) Its days are numbered,
    you are assured of that.

Mark Trotman fascinated us all by saying...
Makes a change for Suzuki to use anything resembling good quality
fasteners. I wouldn't complain too loudly IIWY.
