    I've given up.
I'm saving for a track bike. So the road will no longer be my freedom unless
    its caged.

    Ta,
Oh well, I do what I enjoy. I'm sure MX riding isn't that soft.
And after seeing my mate come off at Rockingham at about 110mph and get up
    just to dust himself off
put me off road riding for a bit. I found myself enjoying track days more
    and more.

    The plan now goes.
    Get fit by riding MX.
    Save up for track bike.
When fit enough, get a track bike.
Get ACU license and go racing. No point doing things by halves.
I can't see the point of a track bike if I'm not going to race.

It's the Too Fucking Scared To Ride Number, as awarded to me by Darsy.

However, on the occasion of my award I was merely trolling, so I just keep
it handy to pass on to others if it looks like they need it.

    HTH,

My vehicle of choice these days is my GS500E. It's good fun when things
    get slippery.

The best handling bikes are the ones you are prepared to crash.

Someone survives a 110 mph crash - And that puts you off ?

I think your logic gates gone.

I think it might be your 'logic gate'...

ie. he might well have hit something like a tree on the road.
There aren't any trees on the track [1], therefore the track is a 'safer'
    place to fall off.

[1] well there are some at Brands, but you have to go a long way off the
    track to get to them.

Did you actually read that link?
"Dunlop was racing at the 3.7-mile public roads circuit"

Find me a link that compares the number of people who died or were seriously
injured on race tracks to the number on the roads
I'd be surprised if it's even in double figures.

    Of course.
So you're talking about different types of race tracks then ?
I was just pointing out that People race on/in all sorts of
    environments:

MX, Scramble, Road Racing, Super Motard, Speedway, Trail, Super AMA
Dirt, jumpoffs, Stunt etc. Are any of them safer than any other ?

I reckon my 20 mile commute every day is just as "safe" as MotoCross,
Speedway, GP etc Each to their own.

I Just thought that giving up the "road" and going MX and a track
days/ACU licence was not necessarily to be thought of as a safer
    option. That's all (Folks)
