It's dead cats you want to watch out for.

There's this dead cat, that's on a nice little bend in the road that I
take to work. It was quite happily being dead, right by the divider in
    the road.

However, on Friday, I noticed it had moved slightly towards the centre
of the road. Hmmm, I thought.

Tonight, on my way to work (yes, bollox), I was happily shooting around
the same corner, when I saw that the fucker had moved bang slap into
the middle of the road and into my path. Too late for me to avoid it.
Gave me a far shock, when I bumped over it and felt the front end go
    light, I tell you.

Magpies. Bright buggers usually move roadkill out of [further] harm's
way. Maybe they wanted this cat opened up more or just left it where
    four-wheeled stuff would straddle it.

Went to a Bird of Prey centre on Monday. Part of the display was a
    flock of vultures in action.

I saw something on the telebox about this a while back, Crows in Buenos
Aries or something doing just that thing at a set of traffic lights and
waiting till the green man came on before nipping down for a quick
    giblet or two. Amazing.
