You are an evil bastard Al.

(as if the twin plug head released recently did not do it already)

  6. I like the journos predictions from a simple picture(from various sites)
-a new frame replacing the pressed steel frame (last time I looked the only
thing you could call a frame was cast and the rear subframe is a tubular
    structure mostly)
-All new engine (all new is a mighty claim considering BMW dont make many
one bike only components, the Rocker covers, heads and barrels certainly
    look new though)
-Ozzy GS riders won't like the cast alloy wheels much (as photographed)

    Al
    (next year a TDM900 or DL1000 I think)

If you read IK's original post, he had factored that into his calculations.

Since when does a litre of Fuel weigh in at 1.09kgs??
Unless you are quoting Oil as well which still means that the fuel is alot
    heavier than Normal

Didn't leaded fuel go out ages ago?

  12. I took the difference between wet and dry weights to be 24kg (225 vs the
fully-wet 249kg quoted by BMW themselves)
Fuel's, what, 0.875kg/L. 22L is then 19.25kg, leaving 4.75kg to make up. The
R259's a chunky motor. It'll hold a bit of oil, and then there's always the
gearbox oil, the oil for the transfer box on the rear hub (don't suppose
they call that the diff? Nah, didn't think so...), the coolant...
My bike's so highly tuned, it needs to run heavy water in the radiator...

  13. No coolant, they're oil-cooled. Just ask Clem.

The rear bit is normally called the bevel drive.

  14. Bloody hell... when I'd finished digging this hole, a couple of locals came
sauntering by and remarked "That hole's not big enough to catch out more
    than one BMW rider, mate."
I replied, "Nah, mate. I'm looking to snare some sportsbike pilot who
fancies himself an expert on all things motorcycle. Those BMW cunts are
usually too wily to fall for something this obvious, and their ABS usually
lets them steer around it even if they do get suckered in initially"...

Of course it did; I've seen it on the shelves! Little cans with "lighter
    fuel" written on them.
