I'm very sorry to hear that Will.
If you want your job I'd very clearly write down what happened and include
how you were feeling (cheated/angry/tired-and-irritable) and go have a long
chat to your boss (or your boss's boss) and then to your union.
I'd be prepared to make a few concessions and offer compromises (like maybe
you can work at a different office) and do some sucking-up (listing your
achievements and occasions when you've helped the company would help too).
(And suck-up to the union too if you're not a member. They'll probably
still help you if you look like you genuinely need it)

Failing that I'll be happy to take your 1150 off your hands provided I can
just jag the Lotto numbers on Saturday night.

Well its either the car or bike that is going and I think I can get more for
the car so there is still hope
