    How easy to swap?
Can I drop the bottom sliders off and leave the legs in the yokes?
Clymer manual great for full rebiuld but not for single tasks.
I plan to fit gaiters too.

    That's the way it's done.
Caution: on some models it's a finicky operation.
Lay out the parts carefully in the order they come off so
you're sure you get 'em back together the same way they were.
You will need a good snap ring plyers, socket driven allen key,
    and patience.
If you've got the time, check the legs for stone nicks or other
roughness that might shorten the life of the new seals.
A Haynes manual is a good investment if you're not happy with
    the Clymer.
