Just bought this 1995 beast with 18000 on clock. It runs great over 3000
revs but under that it shudders and protests like hell!!
Anyone know if this is normal?

  4. In what gear, and with how much throttle? Are you bogging the engine
down with too much throttle in high gear at 15 mph or what?

Oh yes, I believe so - my '96 Pegaso uses the same(ish)[1] Rotax engine
    & it's very lumpy under 3k.

Goes far better than any single deserves to when you rev it hard though
    :)

[1] The BMWs got the 4 valve head & the Aprilias got the 5 valve head. I
believe that Aprilia were still manufacturing the 650s for BMW in '95...

Thanks for the replies. It is clear under 3000 revs and a heavey wrist are
not suited to the funduro's single cylinder. My fault I'm used to 4 pot
    sports bikes.

  7. Even I-4's will lug and vibrate if you gas them at 3K, unless you're
talking about some really BIG-displacement I-4...

Most 1000cc I-4's prefer at least 4K before they will begin to pull...
