    The 900 Divvy I borrowed for a week was very used (100k+ miles), had
    hardly been fettled and still rode and sounded very tight.

    If I was forced to use a bike to commute reasonable distances I'd
    probably use one but it wouldn't be 'for pleasure'.

  3. That was *exactly* what I used it for: 80 miles a day, including 50-odd
    miles of motorway. It replaced a Kawasaki GT750 that's now in the
    possession of Sweller Of This Parish, after having been passed around
    half of ukrm.

    I did take it for a European weekend jaunt, and it was useful for that
    as well. But whereas I'd be gutted if the Ducati or the 4090 Four or
    even the K got totalled, if it had happened to the Divvie, I'd have
    simply felt the same annoyance as when a household consumer durable
    stops working. For that's what it was.

    Oddly, the old GT750 had more soul.
