BMW City Panniers - RHS

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Brownz @ Work, Jun 30, 2008.

  1. Before I commit to the usual suspects of eBay/motoworks etc

Would anyone have one lying around that's not being used anymore.

One had a bit of a garage door / late for work incident this morning.

The city panniers are the small ones btw - sandwich sized as I call them.

Looks like the one in the picture below - but the right hand side one - not
    the left.

Don't need the lock if that's any easier.

a bit rare, especially as they were fitment on the F650 Funduro (I have a
pair on mine) and as such there's lots of Funduro owners after them.

Is the one you have totally trashed or just damaged?

  3. Not sure - I'll have to see when I get home, I took them off and dumped them
in the garage as I was in a rush.

Didn't appear to be any damage, but the bottom of the lid came away from the
hinge - so the whole lid comes off when you pop the top catch.

I assumed it was a plastic hinge that had torn all the way along, but until
I have a proper look tonight I'm not sure.

Can't you just get the hinge on those?

Or are the city boxes different?

Must be the weather, did the same to mine yesterday on the F650. Expect
the pannier is OK and I broke the latch and so I need the lock, that
looks to be pop rivetted onto the pannier.

So, in the same vein of the thread, anyone got a wrecked pannier with a
    good lock?

The locks are available from the same sources, keep the old one as you'll
need to remove the barrel from it
