In the face of what happened... pray tell *how*?

It is possible that was what she wanted, but the partner clearly stated
    "off road".

Maybe my 4x4/Enduro background is showing here...

Ah, well, her original plan was to not bother insuring it,
and to take it straight out of the showroom and on the
    Paris-Dakar ... naked.

-----sharks (already got a BMW tattoo on her arse, which
might have been an overreaction ...)

<Shrug> I thought I was simply making the point that short arses and
big trailies aren't necessarily mutually exclusive

I heard your dick can fall off if you admit a mistake on usenet so I've
been vigorously checking mine each morning in the shower and I'm happy to
report that it's still firmly anchored.

Disturbingly, I think I had a visual. That bloody santa pic has a lot
    to answer for

  7. Coming back from Phillip Island, we encountered a "Gravel Road" sign.
It actually was a bit of road works, with about 50 metres where the
edges of the bitumen had been ripped up and a road-base laid down.
Personally, I thought it didn't even qualify for "Unsealed Surface".

For lots of riding people do this is true, and I've never denied that.

But for offroad (defined as not on a made surface, gravel or tar since
that bit doesn't seem to be registering :) at slower speeds short arses
and big and heavy trailies don't work. ie to say... they are mutually
    exclusive.
    cheers

At least your visual had 'fallen off bits' for lesser mental damage!

But it would've come in handy had there been any cameras present to
    record her stack.

Not to mention reductio ad absurdum... if this discussion had been about
basketball (google-google-google), someone would've pulled Tyrone
    Bogues[1] out of their arse.

    Dakar racers are freaks.
If anything, I'd say "off-road=trail", places where someone might've
zigzagged a bulldozer through a couple of decades ago, but, for the
purposes of describing terrain where a novice could get in trouble on a
big, unwieldy bike, I'd happily expand the definition to "roads you'd
think twice about taking a regular passenger car along".

I'm not convinced. It becomes qualitative to argue how big/tall/strong
you have to be to manouvre a big trailie in the tight/ offroad/ dirt
stuff... And a comparison might be with trial, where being able to
get a foot down defeats the purpose, and skill, balance and control is
    everything.

Suzie's fibia and tibia are both broken, the femur was cracked and
her knee joint is dislocated and has damaged cartilage (spelling) so
I'll be doing something similar for quite a while Knobdoodle.

Yikes! She must have hit that wall at a fair old speed, or else at
    *just* the wrong angle...
