  1. Heheh. I was just reminiscing about Mat's first ride home when he saw a
copper, locked the front brake and fell off!

Phew! This thread is moving awful fast. I'm only an airhead
rider, I'm a bit time-conservative and prefer to move a bit slower.

Best wishes to Mrs. Mosfet ...

Indeed... and that guy's supposed to have not been a (total) troll.

When my kid bro stuck my ZXR250 into a ditch up the Old Rd three corners
after I, on a ZX9, lost sight of him, my first words to him, writhing as
he was on the ground in obvious non-serious pain, were, "Go pick it up",
followed, after a moment's reflection, with, "Nah, stay down. I'll do
it. You'd just **** that up, too".

    There's mind-over-matter, and there's kidding yourself. I find it
difficult to muster up much respect or admiration for the latter.

The bike is a real mess. twisted and smashed. I'm surprised Suzie
wasn't hurt worse. I don't think it was insured.

Errmmm that _is_ my point you realise... it's such a bugger off road
that to wrestle it off road you need to be a big strong bugger (and like
I said... I'm not big enough or strong enough, so I strongly doubt a 5'2
woman is). Or as I also said... "If it's not going to be ridden off
    road" etc...
Much better choices (for me too :)

Moike... it takes a bit to get me peeved... but you just managed.

The guy said "OFF ROAD", I advised against the GS several times, IK also
    expressed concerns about it.

There was advice against it... (as well as illadvised advice towards it) [1]

    G-S

[1] Sorry... Zebee... but I honestly believe in this case your advice
    was seriously off base.

It isn't so much a matter of "caused" as it is of "lacking the ability
to do so makes a save almost impossible"... [1]

    G-S

[1] Normally it's PaulH and Hammo arguing lost causes not you Zebee!

You don't want to touch that front brake mate, it's baaaaaad for you!

-----sharks (discovered at Dargo that I use the front brake even
in the mud ... kind of just looked down and noticed I was
doing it and it was working fine ...)

IK's advice was quite clear as was mine...

I agree it's likely, but it's not the only choice. Like I say, without
knowing what the exact circumstances were, then it's unwise to be so
    sure.

I can think of ways to come unstuck on slipperty ground hard enough to
break a leg that were in no way saveable by long legs.
