The GS500 decided not to start yesterday. Click click click click fukkit.
OK, so the starter solenoid had been intermittent for a while and had
finally gone titzup. (They all do that sir).
Phone Suzuki dealer - None in stock, can get one for tomorrow, 70 quid.
Seventy bloody quid for a little solenoid, someone is taking the piss.

Spent an hour scratching around on the web and found one at Wemoto for
38 quid. Ok so its a pattern part but should be OK. Still a lot for
    a little solenoid though.

Bookmarked http://shop.wemoto.com/ who seem to be a good source of loads
    of pattern bike bits.

  2. Jesus. It's just a solenoid. Any motor factor will have one that will do
    the trick.

Yebbut ICBA to mess around mounting the wrong part and bodging the wiring
when the correct part just plugs into the connectors provided.
The bike is only 5 years old so its worth keeping it standard.
