Bloody Kodak!

  1. O UKRM, fount of all knowledge,

I just discovered that Kodak has stopped its PhotoCD service
and replaced it with a disgusting low-resolution "Picture CD"
    service.

    Any 35mm pornographers here?

Anyone know where I can get my negatives scanned as
    2000x3000 uncompressed images onto CD?
The Picture CD's 1000x1500 jpg format is crap.
If Kodak could do it properly ten years ago, why not now?

Are you sure that they *stopped* the service or is that what the
retailer tells you? I know that there's been some upheaval and product
changes at Kodak recently so it may well be the case, but I'd check
that. Saying that, my main interest in Kodak is that I can get Tri-X
and occasionally Ektachrome E100/E200 so I'm not quite au fait with
    their latest developments.
Sorry, lack of models :). But yes, I "do" both 35mm and Medium
    Format.
Cheapest long-term solution? Buy a film scanner. They aren't that
expensive any more - I've recently bought a Minolta Scan Dual III
which is more than adequate for my needs and that cost me GBP250
incl. delivery. Given the extra cash that the labs I tend to frequent
want for scans, it's probably paid for itself in less than a
    year.
'cos the general public probably doesn't give a ****?
