Yesterday, Laura came home in a strop and had a stinking row with Sarah.
Sarah was so pissed off by this that she decided she would come along to
Sedan after all, and leave Laura to the tender mercies of the grandparents
for the whole weekend. She's managed to get some sensible footwear onto the
injured foot, this morning we acquired some waterproof overboots, and this
afternoon she's been practicing getting onto the back of the VFR with all
    the boxes fitted.

Then Laura came home from school and casually mentioned that "having an
argument with someone" was her drama homework...

I hope this doesn't mean that Sir is considering wimping out of the
    Saturday Blitzkrieg, BTW?

Only the forecast (whisper it quietly) actually looks pretty good.

Many things are quietly crossed. I was talking routes and scenic bits last
night, and it seemed not to be an issue.
TOG's talking out of his arse. The weather won't be an issue (unless it
pisses down, of course). The accuracy of weather forecasts drops off
steeply, and I don't place any credence in anything further out than about 3
    days. But we'll see.

    No, really?
I don't place any credence in any forecast I don't like.

You've clearly been far too lax in her upbringing.
Lock her in the coal cellar, beat her regularly and
feed her nothing but bread and water.
    That'll learn 'er...

Well, I've created a photocopy mosaic of the route, and coloured it in
    with highlighters and stuff.

At least we'll have something to start the signal fire with, when we
    get lost.
