    It wasn't a snipe, as he'd been bididng earlier. he just timed it
    nicely. I've managed to get a winning broadband bid in with a mere
    three seconds left.

  2. Yezz are both right; I'd misread it as being 55sec, not 45 - and a 15
    second snipe is pretty useless.

    Well yeah, mindless. I was actually making a general reply to Higgin's
    "It seems they struggle to understand the concept of an auction."
    comment because I assumed he was talking in general terms.

    Ah. You're right, of course. I don't know which particular form of
    Ebayer annoys me more: the ones who try and get you to abandon the
    auction in return for "cash", or the ones who don't read the auction
    page properly and bombard you with questions they don't need to ask.
