  1. *Unix* package name of "at". Available on HPUX (spit), Solaris, Sco
Unix (washes hands, gargles with soap) and some decent unix variants
    too..

And is one of the most appalling excuses for a batch scheduling system
it's ever been my misfortune to work with. No dependencies, no error
checking, no rerun capabilites, no nothing. And don't you love the
fact that the filenames created are simply the scheduled run time
quoted in seconds from (IIRC) Feb 1st 1970, but that you can enter
tasks using hour/minute times, and it allows you to schedule up to 100
    jobs per minute.

Took me ages to work that this was the reason that many of the jobs
scheduled from a safety reporting package were just disappearing into
the ether... and then program a way around it. Fun, I suppose, but
really, what a heap of shit it is.

  3. Yup. It's pants. Which is why it very rapidly got displaced by cron.

AFAIAA none of them give much in the way of dependency control, so no
real ability to allow a whole suit of jobs to be conditionally
    executed.

    We wrote our own instead.
