No they won't be. Less than 50% of respondents to the last census
declared a religion (something like that number). And that included
the idiots who put stuff like Jedi, or Motorcycles down.

So if people just declared their religious predilections accurately
this time, then people will realise finally that the majority of
people don't give a toss about it.

    Umm, nope.

    http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/profiles/commentaries/
    ethnicity.asp#religion

"There are 37.3 million people in England and Wales who state their
religion as Christian. The percentage of Christians is similar between
the two countries but the proportion of people who follow other religions
is 6.0 per cent in England compared with 1.5 per cent in Wales."

    Total population's given as 52.4m (just E&W)

    So that's 71%+ said "Christian"

    OTOH...
"In England and Wales 7.7 million people state they have no religion
(14.6 per cent in England and 18.5 per cent in Wales)."
"At the time the Census was carried out, there was an internet campaign
that encouraged people to answer the religion question "Jedi Knight". The
number of people who stated Jedi was 390,000 (0.7 per cent of the
    population)."
"The religion question was voluntary, and 4,011,000 people chose not
    answer it (7.7 per cent)."
So that's a total of ~12.1m people who either didn't answer, said "none"
or "Jedi". I doubt the other silly answers added to more than a handful.

    23%

That's what Waitrose tried. Enabled the pump and I put £12 worth of
petrol in. I was shouted at by 2 women whilst I waved a VISA card. I
threatened to leave without making the payment so they caved in.
Ditto. There are 3 other petrol stations in town so **** 'em.

When Safeway had the store there was a pay@pump option. Waitrose withdrew
it as it reduces the no. of Mars bars sold.

Not really a huge **** Off: 0.6% put Jew, 0.7% put Jedi and 7.7% didn't
    answer the question.

The BP station next to my home also when lid-hostile a couple of years
ago. But another BP one on my usual route isn't, so i just changed my
habits. The lid-friendly one is also the one where the tire pump is the
more likely to be in working condition.

I would suggest that the vast majority were.

And as for my IQ, it's not as high as some, I'll grant you that.

I'll still stick with you being a racist though, even though you can
argue it was just merely religious bigotry at play here.

So don a balaclava and your lid, then go back and fill up. When they ask you
to remove the lid, do it with a smile on your face and say "Any better,
    ****"?

I recently called into our local Tesco and didn't take my lid of, coz I was
only getting some tea bags and a packet of fags. Usually, the in-house
plastic plod would pounce and ask me to take the lid off, but this time he
didn't. The girl at the checkout didn't look like she was afraid I might rob
her (or worse) and the girl on the next check-out, just nodded at me as I
    sauntered past and left.

At least there's *some* common sense being shown at our Tesco. I filled the
tank while I was there as a "thank you" and didn't take my lid off there
    either. No comment was made.

  12. Um, I'm not so sure, actually. Indonesia is the most populous Muslim
country. And then you've got Malaysia and Nigeria (parts of). I haven't
totted up the figures, but while it may indeed be an Arab/black
majority, I'd be surprised if it's the "vast majority".

    <fx: wiki>

    Hm. Interesting.

I forgot Pakistan and Bangla Desh. That's well over 300 million. Oh, and
    Turkey.

Blimey - there are 21 million in China. That's unexpected.

    <rootles further down list>

    Zero in the Falklands. OK.

Zero in the Vatican City. Heh. The Isle of Man and Iceland reveal slim
    pickings, too.

So roughly a billion in Asia/Pacific, versus some 600 million in the
Middle East/North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.

  15. The attire these women were wearing is not part of their faith , the
Koran doesnt state the face must be completly covered , rather men
and women must dress modestly .

Look around the world few muslim women actually cover thier faces
completly of thier own free choice.

The fact theseindividuals faces were covered didnt bother me , the
fact as a male and a motorcyclist i was immediatly treated with
suspicion and told to do somehing that would have resulted in legal
action if the same request was made to these shrouded individuals does

That is not relgous bigotry thats an expectation that i should not be
discriminated against because of my race , my religion ,or my choice
    of hobby/ transport

  16. The eyes could not be seen as the slot was about 20 mm covered in a
gause and i was about 12 metres away from them and for most of the
time thier backs were towards me anyway, as for the hands i ever
    noticed

Look at what is considered 'sinful' by different Christian sects: e,g.
Contraception, alcohol consumption. Look at what is considered
legitimate by some. So who are you to state what someone believes or
doesn't believe; especially when it's two women you saw from a
    distance.

And say what you want about religious/racial bigotry, I simply do not
believe you. You've said enough in the past to confirm that you are a
    bigot.

    Hark at you, Mullah Robinson.

It's a question of how you interpret "modestly". The Koran is written in
an archaic form of Arabic and is terribly ambiguous about many things.

Christianity and Judaism precisely have the same issues, to varying
degrees. The question of what "modest" means is hardly the greatest
    cause of schism in Islam.

I bet some of your best friends are black too.

  20. I havent made any comments on what they should or should not believe
thats entirely up to them , i have commented only that the muslim
faith does not require the face to be covered in such a manner.

Go grab yourself a copy of the Koran plenty available in English now
try and get a copy thats not sponsored by the saud regime as the
    translation is not completly accurate
I dont really care wether you believe me or not , you seem to be the
only one here who has a problem
