    Hi everybody

I have recently bought Yamaha FZR600, year 90, type 3HF
Unfortunatelly it is a version designed for Switzerland, therefore its power
    is blocked for 36.10 kM.
Do you know what kind of blockage was used in that particular type of the
    bike?
Is it just carburators, CDI module or something more?

Thanks in advance for any info.

    Regards from Lausanne (Switzerland)

I know about that, but as far as I know those are 3 possibilities:
    - simply - reduction on the carburetors,
    - more complicated - digital reduction (via CDI ignition module),
    - and the worst one, within the engine (unfortunatelly I don't know how to
    describe it in english)
I hope that it is not so bad, but its always better to ask :)
Thanks a lot!! And welcome everybody!
Sorry, its was my typing mistake, it should be 36.10 kW (about 52 horse
    power).
This motorcycle, while its unblocked, should have ~ 85-95 horse power.

    With beste regards

May be relevant maybe not, but found this for FZR400RR

"Speed restricted to 115 but you can derestrict em by removing the tab in
the speedometer that passes through a block at 115ish on the back of the
unit but dont remove the tab that blocks it at0mph or the bike will go
real slow. this method saves 60 notes on black boxes. in all I loved this
bike and only got rid of it because I'd killed it from too much street
    extreme ."

  4. Honda chose that route when the detuned the brilliant 17bhp CB125T of
the mid-to-late 1970s into the dreadful 12bhp CB125 Super Dream.

As well as smaller carbs and silencers that were just about solid
    baffle.

  5. The UK market FZR1000 of that sort of age used restrictor plates between the
carburators and cylinder heads, I think these were part of the gasket. You
could remove the restriction "simply" by taking off the carbs and cutting
the restrictors away. Not difficult, just tedious. The carbs were already
correctly jetted, just restricted n how much air they could flow.
