Oh, I know all that shit, I've been doing it for years on the M25. It's
just that when the bike feels like it's marginally wider than the chips
on Des's shoulders it all needs a period of adjustment.

And you can't do KSBs on an injected bike. :^(

Seriously, it was a heap. It was filthy, and the glass in one of the
mirrors was broken. Somebody had mounted aux. stop lights on top of the
panniers, and one was hanging off. It looked like a money pit, and I don't
reckon I'd have parted with more than £500 for it.

    Nah. All will be revealed.
Now, there's an idea. Seen those anti-IR flares that military planes
use? I need some of those. And chaff dispensers for the rozzers. An ECM
pod or two. Maybe a HARM missile. Fuckit, I'll have two.

I tried a KSB in a tunnel last week, but only got a little pfft. What's
    the technique?

Down one gear to get revs up, kills switch on for 3 seconds, kill switch
off, pfft. I want a big bang.

I usually get up to a reasonable rate of knots, roll the throttle shut,
hit the kill-switch (you'll be surprised how much more engine braking
you get at this point), give it a *big* handful of throttle to put a
healthy charge in the pipes, then shut the throttle again and switch
    back on.

Then pull over to allow the pillion to change her underwear because you
were underneath a railway bridge at the time. Sorry, love...

Depends. The Drifter will let out little pops on the overrun, and biggish
bangs using the killswitch for a second or two (off - wait - on/BANG/). On
the Trophy (1200/4), you might get a little fart with the previous
technique. For a loud bang, you switch off, twist the throttle wide open
and then shut, then switch on again. I can sometimes feel a bit of a
    shockwave from this.

And a sun-bleached animal skull on the front. Something with curly horns,
    like a goat maybe.

  16. I'd forgotten that about the injected Z13 - the FI recycles unused fuel
bank into the tank, and the tank gets bloody hot.

Readily identified by reference to the (now correctly adjusted) on-board
    compass.

How can you not love a bike where swinging the compass is part of the
    regular maintenance routine?

I have also discovered that a box of 12 bottles of Hobgoblin fits easily
in the top box. Japanese design at its very best.
