My tester doesn't even like touching my CB, he makes me test it myself
while he watches over me.

 

Mine roadtested the KH500, but not as part of the test.

It was a condition of the test - and he still failed it.

Having sat on your CB, I can well understand that.

 

They were only around £450-500 to replace a broken one, though. If you
could present the original.

Ah, it should have been underwired, that'd have sorted it ;o)

 

If you have a 'flat dip' beam, i.e. without the tick, then that is
acceptable. Most US spec bikes have a flat dip.
If the 'tick dip' goes the wrong way, i.e. up on the right as viewed
from on the bike, then that is not acceptable.

Wondering where on earth Ace got that idea.

The last time I was involved with an MOT and a road test was with a
Morris Minor van. The tester took it out for a spin with decelorometer:
"because it's kinder to 'tired' brakes"

 

That's my experience.

Usually he sets it up with the owner on the bike.

fitting masks or converter kits which remove the beam 'kick-up' to the

A headlamp altered in this way is *not* *a* *reason* *for* *rejection* if

a. the headlamp aim is not rejected for the reasons listed under diagram
1 (except that the top of the beam image will be a straight line)

b. the light output is not unduly
reduced - not usually a problem with commercially produced kits

c. the mask or converter is securely attached

But, if it were to be taped in such a way as it again became flat rather
than a tick, it would become acceptable.

 

The issue seems to be that it is completely flat, not that it is a
right hand dip. Anyway will be sorted tomorrow.
