Just ordered a pair of replacement speakers for the Wing[1][2].

Polk Audio ones - much improved on OEM ones, according to them as know
    about these things.

    On sale! $69.95 from $89.95.

    Cor, that's cheap, thought I.

    That'll be $70 *each* then.

    Plus postage.

    Arse.

Still, with exchange rate as it is, I guess a ton's not too bad.

[1] They've been rattling for a while now, and the cone on the offside
one detached completely on the way home from France.

[2] 5" speakers, not your run of the mill 5.25". And there's a certain
    waterproofing requirement, too.

  2. Marine speakers from CPC might do the job - you're not pumping
    megawatts, are you?

    35 continuous, 105 peak...whatever that means.

    Too late now, them's ordered.

All I've got to do now, is work htf to get at the old ones.

Apparently[1] these Polk jobbies are the dog's wotsits.

I'm not fooling anyone here, am I? Arse.

It's on Visa, so it's not like real money, is it?

[1] a lot of folks appear to have changed from OEM to these *before*
they've given up the ghost, cos the sound quality's so improved.

I thought the OEM ones were okay meself. Well that is, from about 10 yards
away whilst on my own bike, at approximately 80mph.

Yes, indeed I have heard many good things about Polkl Audio. Highly
respected in car audio circles IMHO

  11. Just think, you could have bought another shedload of small, obscure and
expensive parts for the H1 with the change.

Like a set of 0.5mm oversize pistons (no rings) on a "buy it now" for
    $450, perhaps.

    I have a pair of genuine Yamaha + 0.25mm RD400C/D pistons here that I
use as paperweights. Do you think I'll get 300 sheets for them on e-bay?
