You really really sure about this? I'd be ordering 3 of the feckers and
I don't want to make a BIG mistake.

this is called "not having enough reception rooms" syndrome, though.

not in a million years was I considering purchasing the projection
thing I referenced in my OP. Rest assured that my PVR issues are long
sorted, and I've decided which TV to buy.

no, but again, I'm pretty much decided on what to buy.

I'm 1/2 minded to start looking for a new kitchen, mind...

yes - got one 3 years ago, but:

    a) not really happy with it - serves me right for going to MFI, though
    b) not really happy with the configuration of the kitchen and the room
adjacent to it - thinking about knocking the two rooms into one (it's
not a load-bearing wall), and making the whole space into a large
    kitchen/diner.

How did Porl's work out, do you know?
Guestimated about 4-5k for it. Need to get some proper quotes, and more
importantly get some opinions as to which way it'll affect the value of
the house. One the one hand, we'll lose a pokey little kitchen and gain
a pretty large, currently fashionable to have, kitchen/dining room.

On the other hand, technically we lose one reception room.

So high that the living room ceiling is the same height as the kitchen
+ bathroom. Basically, 24 feet high.
    **** yeah.

Last week I had a houndstooth sports jacket made, and I do have a
    collection of tobacco pipes.

    Close enough?

    I'm a fucking disgraceful pikey ****, it's true.

I was thinking of having proper Home Cinema in one of the bedrooms,
proper office in another, sitting room for sitting and library for
    reading.

But then I realised that I wouldn't ever use the sitting room, and I'd
    only have on spare bedroom.

Forgot to ask him, actually. Wouldn't surprise me if it was the same fitter
    though.

    I'm thinking about using them.

Can you give me a ballpark as to how much they charge?

Cost too much - I've just had all my ceilings replaced, and that blew the
budget. And I bought a new Mille. And I'm getting an LCD telly.

    Lovely kitchens though.
