All you'll get will be the lens, and it sounds like a) you'll need to
build a cabinet to put it in and b) it's relying on the brightness
from your own screen, so will in practice be very faint (i.e. close
the blackout curtains to view). And the 'don't need to invert your
telly' sounds like it's just some instructions to make a mirror-based
    inverter box or something similar.

Dunno but they bugger the colour up something horrible.

My Gran had one back in 195? Turned her huge great 6 inch monochrome
Bairdophone into something twice the size but what looked the United
Nations. When them OXO ads came on with the false colours it was like
    tripping it was.

    well, I do to.

Unless it's the room in the house that's for watching TV in.

It's not an aesthetically-pleasing piece of furniture.

Not really. "Normal" sized TV in the average living room looks fine.
Huge pub-sized thing (like my sis in law has got)
    looks....well....pikey.

Riight. But the device in question would only dominate a room when
switched on, no? Which is what I thought you meant.

my boss has just bought a Goldstar 37" LCD flat panel - 1600 quid from
Richer Sounds - he's pretty happy with it.

I'm looking for one myself, but will be happy enough with a 32" LCD, as
long as it's HDTV/HDCP enabled and ideally has twin tuners.

I'm thinking mostly of the huge things like you get in pubs. My sis in
law has one (on the excuse her sight isn't that good because she has MS
but actually because she's one of these people that needs to constantly
buy things to remind herself she hasn't died yet). Horrible, it is - a
massive expanse of cheap plastic squatting along half of one wall. On
or off, you can't ignore it and she's had to squash all the rest of the
furniture up to make room for it, so the rest of the room is crowded.
    Looks *rubbish*, it does.

So, absolutely nothing to do with the subject in question then?

Oh, this is UKRM. As you were.

Hmm ... I've been keeping an eye on LCDs, and so far Richer Sounds only seem
to have trailing-edge stuff. Certainly, if you want a current model (i.e.
DVI-HDCP), there seem to be better, cheaper bets elsewhere online

The ubject was a thing to give you a large TV, as I recall. So not
    that far removed ;-)

Hmm the LG is the one I noticed. The Panasonic 32 I looked at t'other
day was 300 sovs dearer, lovely quality though.
Trouble is with this kit is knowing what's good/not and what feature
    sets are needed/not
