God, how right you are. I bought 'ice blue' which was white wiv a bit
of blue in it. However on the wall it's gone all lavender on me. So if
you can stand a bit of lilac without heaving you'll be ok :)

I'm knackered from this weekend's fun & games, so I won't be doing
this or the EOSM. Shame, but there's always another time.

    Yeah, should be around.
    West end, or city/islington way?

I went for a pint in the Cittie of Yorke on Holborn, which was impressively
    olde-worlde. Sam Smith's though, if that's a problem

Generally though, you can't go wrong with Fitzrovia and the Palms of Goa for
a ruby. And then a whisky sour or three in Jerusalem. And then on to the
Spanish Bar on Hanway Street for some San Miguels till three in the morning.

The Melton Bowbray across the road is OK, or Lounge up towards the west
    end is nice.

I might be able to pop over for a couple, depending on what time/how
close to my work you're starting.

    The Paternoster, St.Pauls?

I looked up reviews of it (it's called CVO Firevault), and it seems to
be more like a restaurant than a bar downstairs, though upstairs is -
bizarrely - a designer fireplace showroom.

Sound. I'll be there by 17:00 at the latest, though as I said, can
probably only stay an hour or so.

They sell Youngs Double Chocolate Stout there (in bottles), which is a
    great "start the evening" beer.

In case you don't know where exactly it is, come out of St.Pauls tube
on the "Newgate Street" exit, turn left, past Caffe Nero and CBRE, it's
on the next corner on your left.

So will I when I find out where it is. A bit more precise than "St.
    Pauls" if you can.

    heh.

It's not a bad pub, for a Young's. Also, it's 2 minutes' walk from my
office, and almost right beside St.Pauls which is the start of my
    commute home.

And if young Simon fancies a return trip to the Cittie of Yorke, it's a
10 minute walk up Newgate Street/Holborn, on the way into the West End.

As mentioned, the Melton Mowbray, on the way, just past Holborn Circus
(or whatever the one is called at the junction of Holborn and Hatton
    Garden, is another decent boozer.

Further on up, you'll pass Lounge Bar, which is nice for a pretentious
unironic Martini, and also the Penderel's Oak - site of Ivanfest III (I
    think).

Mups can probably suggest a few more pubs on the way, if that's what
you decide to do (as mentioned, I'm only stay at the Paternoster for a
    couple of pints).

Also Davy's Bung Hole Cellar, which looks a promising place to get battered
    on port and cigars

more spooky Ivanfest connections there, the 1st or 2nd one was in
Davy's Free-on-Board round the corner from here (well, several corners,
    but not that far).
