Hiya! I've spent two weeks now, and cannot find my perfect bike -
Hornet. Maybe anyone frfom you is selling yours or you know a
particular one which meets my criteria?

    1) Under 10k miles
    2) 2001 reg upwards
    3) black and faired!!

I would really appreciate your help, I'm constantly monitoring gumtree,
biketrader and ebay and there is nothing there!! Where else can I look
    for it?

    Cheers

Assuming you mean a 600, there are at least four that fit your criteria
    on Biketrader.

    Yup, a 600

One is located in Northern Ireland, one is SORN and without tax, one
(from Giants) has been sold over a week ago. :(

Assuming you mean SORN & no MOT, I wouldn't let that put you off. Tell
him you'll have it if he MOTs it, or offer him 500 quid less without
    MOT. It's a Honda, & the Reg/Rec isn't an MOT failure, so it'll be
    fine...

Phone a main Honda dealer and give them the spec. They'll be able to
    search their own network.

thanks for help, I think I'll do that as the one without MOT and TAX is
    gone.

Does it make any sense of thinking about CBR600F when I'm interested in
    medium/long/comfort trips ?

CBR600F is not a Hornet. I think the correct designation is CB600F with an
    S suffix if faired.

Both CBR & Hornets are capable of covering long distances in relative
comfort, especially as you mentioned buying a Hornet with a fairing. You
also specified a post 2001 model which will have a 17" front wheel and IIRC
    a slightly bigger fuel tank.

I owned a CBR600 and have ridden a few Hornets. My only criticism of them
for long distances is that you really need to rev the tits off them to make
good progress. This can make a long journey more tiring compared to riding
say a 1000cc big twin with similar bhp, as you have to keep dropping a gear
or two for overtakes and tight Alpine bends.

  12. wessie came into sight through the beans and said
I've got the CBF600S which I use most days on a 100 mile round trip to
work. The seat gets a bit uncomfortable towards the end of the week, but
the econmomy is good, I tend to do A32 in the AM and M3 coming home and
get about 220 miles to the tank (19L). It does have to be said however,
that whilst I make progress, I'm fairly conservative about reaching
    'progress' speed.

heh - I suspect it's session related. If it *isn't*, then he really
    needs a slapping.

Highly likely given everything for the search appears to be in the
    request.
Nah, he's a bloody good developer, so it's bound to be something
silly, or most likely, something that was suggested to Emap and they
    decided wasn't in scope.
