Biting your tongue

I got an EQ of 46 and an SQ of 64.... I guess that it depends on how
much sleep you've been getting recently.

 

Tiredness tends to - well, not restrict my emotional range as such, more
make it easier to get me to the grumpy end of the spectrum. I've just been
getting my orders for the evening:

"I'm off to bed. Do the ironing. Do the dishes." etc.
"Yep, yep, yep." etc.
"Oh, what's the point? You're not listening." stomp stomp stomp etc.
"Huh?"

She's in the kitchen now, banging things about and muttering histrionically.

I'm slighty tense, possibly faintly exasperated, but I'll be fine once she
stomps off upstairs and goes to bed.

This applies quite strongly to me, but if I know I'm going to be short
on sleep at some time in the future, I can put up with it better.

Reminds me of a saying. Sometimes I wake up grumpy, other times I let
her sleep in.

 

Top tip:

"Yes, dear. Of course, dear." doesn't help.
