You're right, it was actually Stroud. Same thing, really.

O'Contrare. I often abandon the M5 at Jn12. On the Drifter, it's easy to
have a mellow 80-85mph blat down the motorway, but I feel too visible on the
Trophy and too easy to nick. Plus the only interesting thing to do is go
fast, then go faster, bit of filtering, then more faster. Ends up cruising
    at 125 and it's /routine/ - at least on the A38 there's bends, stop-go,
    villages, interesting overtakes etc.

    AOL.
The M5 is OK if you're in a hurry but it's deadly dull. A38 offers a nice
compromise: more interesting than the motorway; quicker than going via
    Wotton.

A right-wing shithole festooned where the only half-decent venue is
    a converted public toilet?

I dread to think what Dursley's like!

Some of those dances can be rather amusing. Most of them are routine but
extra points for dangly legs or in and out with the arms scores extra.

I suppose it's the same as a dentist watching a patient's leg rise at
the same rate as the pain but coughing or spitting or some sort of
wailing noise would be enough to relieve the tedium.
